Well, just about...
Christmas is just two months away! I am so excited! And I'm a little sad at the same time. With it being my first Christmas away from home, it will be different not being apart of the different traditions my family takes part in. It will however give me an opportunity to see how J's family does things at Christmas and that will give us an opportunity to work both family traditions into our own family.
What traditions does your family do at Christmas? What is your favorite thing about Christmas? Have you done any shopping yet? I have only purchased one gift so far for all of the people I need to buy for.

Who knows what kind of crazy things they do out there in the east .. crazy traditions and such.. :P
we will miss you and James lots during Christmas time this year for sure.
Matt and I had a hard time with that too when we were first married. What we ended up doing was the Nativity tradition with my family on Christmas eve and Christmas morning with my family and then Matt's family on Christmas afternoon or boxing day. My family (the russell girls) always go to a movie on christmas day afternoon so we usually miss out on that if we're at matt's family.
When Tanner was born that was a bit of a struggle for us to figure out what to do but then we moved to Ray-town and now we have our own 'collins' family traditions.
We usually go to the town christmas carnival and we sleep under the tree one night (aka on mattresses in the living room), we do the sugar cooking decorating/icing. We also go skating at the rink. One tradition that we enjoy is that we always pick out a new ornament every year for our tree. It's something small, but when we look at our tree, we know what year it was from. The other thing we started 2 years ago is buying a new christmas CD every year.
Being apart from what you have grown up with can be hard but just remember that you and James will start your own family traditions and that's so much fun!
